One of the best tight ends in the 2021 recruiting class is heading to Wisconsin.

Monday, the Badgers received a verbal pledge from four-star tight end Jack Pugh. He’s listed as the No. 12 ranked tight end in the 2021 recruiting cycle and becomes the 11th member of Wisconsin’s 2021 class. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“I am proud to announce that I will be furthering my athletic and academic career to my dream school, the University of Wisconsin,” Pugh wrote. “Thank you Coach Turner, Rudolph and Chryst for [taking] a chance on me and supporting me all the way. Couldn’t be more honored and excited to be a Badger!”

Pugh is a 6-foot-5, 235-pound native of Hilliard, Ohio who received plenty of offers on the recruiting trail. In addition to Wisconsin, he received interest from Penn State, Michigan, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota and Northwestern out of the B1G.

According to 247Sports, Pugh ranks as the No. 10 player out of the state of Ohio and is No. 326 overall. While he’s known for having strong pass-catching skills, Pugh is also a willing blocker and has the necessary frame to be an effective tight end at the Power Five level.

With Pugh’s commitment, Wisconsin leaps up to No. 17 in the 2021 recruiting rankings and is still eighth in the B1G.
