It’s about to be a family affair on the Wisconsin staff this season.

Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst will unite with his nephew Keller, who is joining the program as a grad assistant. Keller Chryst previously played collegiately at Stanford and Tennessee from 2015-2018.

Keller Chryst amassed 2,376 yards with 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 29 games split between his first three seasons at Stanford and his final season at Tennessee.

Keller Chryst’s dad Geep previously coached as an offensive assistant in the NFL from 1991-2008 with the Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, the then-San Diego Chargers, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers, and Denver Broncos. Geep Chryst is currently the tight ends coach for Cal.

Wisconsin posted a 4-3 record in 2020. Wisconsin will open the 2021 season on Sept. 4 vs. visiting Penn State (12 p.m. EST/FOX).
