Wisconsin had to beat Purdue on Saturday to setup a winner-take-all scenario against Minnesota next week. The Badgers did that by defeating the Boilermakers 45-24.

After the 21-point win, Wisconsin linebacker Chris Orr addressed the crowd at Camp Randall Stadium with a message about the upcoming rivalry game with Minnesota:

As Orr said, “We’re going to get our axe back” in reference to Paul Bunyan’s Axe — which is awarded to the winner of the game. Wisconsin owned the rivalry as of late, but that all changed in 2018.

Minnesota beat Wisconsin 37-15 a year ago. If the Badgers want to take back the axe, it will need to at Minnesota next Saturday. If they do that, they’ll be winners of the Big Ten West division and get a chance at a rematch with Ohio State.

Even better.
