It appears that we have our first bump in the road in an attempt to pull off the Big Ten-ACC Challenge in 2020.

On Wednesday, Wisconsin and Louisville were set to go in one of the higher profile matchups of the challenge. However, the game appears to be off due to issues with the Cardinals.

This news was revealed Monday morning, but it seems as if Greg Gard and company knew for a while as it appears that the Badgers might already have a different opponent lined up for Wednesday.

Wednesday’s game against Louisville was set to be Wisconsin’s first game since a crazy loss to Marquette this past Friday when the Golden Eagles pulled out the upset with a last-second tip in. It was the Badgers’ first loss of the season and sent them from No. 4 in the polls to No. 13.

Rhode Island started out with consecutive losses to open the season against Arizona State and Boston College. But the Rams have rallied with three consecutive wins despite just playing one home game so far this season.

Besides the loss to Marquette, Wisconsin has been perfect besides that heartbreaking loss. They’ve picked up wins against Eastern Illinois, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Green Bay. The Badgers are scheduled to play just one more non-conference game (home against Northern Iowa) before jumping into Big Ten play.
