One of the most prolific running backs in B1G history is headed to Indianapolis.

Former Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft. He was taken with the No. 41 overall pick and was the first Badger player off the board this year.

Taylor left Madison after three seasons with Wisconsin, rushing for over 6,000 yards and scoring 50 touchdowns on the ground. He racked up two 2,000-yard seasons and was an All-American selection during his time with the Badgers. He helped lead his team to two B1G Championship Game appearances in his three years.

Last season, Taylor totaled 2,003 rushing yards and scored 21 touchdowns on the ground, helping lead the Badgers to another 10-win season and a B1G West title. He also added another element to his game this past fall, totaling 252 yards and five touchdowns on 26 receptions.

Taylor helped his draft stock even more at the NFL Scouting Combine by registering a blistering 4.39 time in the 40-yard dash, the fastest time among B1G players this year.
