T.J. Watt was a monster for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2021 campaign. He finished the year as the AP Defensive Player of the Year while tying the NFL’s single-season record with 22.5 sacks.
So, what can Watt do for an encore in 2022? According to Watt, his best days are still to come.
“I still feel great, I feel like my best football is ahead of me, so I’m very excited for this season,” said Watt while speaking to reporters on Thursday.
He went on to say that he’s not satisfied with his performance as he tries to get better:
“Just continue the work,” Watt explained. “There are so many areas where I feel I can improve…I’m not satisfied, I’m really not, and I feel this group can be really successful when we’re all clicking.”

In 5 NFL seasons, Watt has 72 career sacks, 80 TFL, 150 QB hits, 22 forced fumbles and 4 interceptions. He has finished top-3 for the Defensive Player of the Year Award in 3 straight seasons, including winning the award in 2021. Can he repeat as the top defensive player in 2022?
