Wisconsin is opening fall camp on Wednesday, preparing for the revised 2020 football season, scheduled to begin the weekend of Oct. 23 and 24. Before things got underway, the Badgers sent out the updated roster for the year, with some noticeable changes.

Offensive lineman Jon Dietzen is back with the program after leaving the team at the conclusion of the 2018 season. He had been a staple along Wisconsin’s offensive line during his career, making 32 starts with the Badgers. However, lingering injuries forced Dietzen to step away from the game.

It appears that Dietzen will give football another shot, though. And it could be a huge addition for the Badgers, who are looking to add depth up front this year.

Along with the addition to the roster, there was also one significant absence.

Safety Reggie Pearson was not listed on the Badgers’ 2020 roster. It’s unclear whether Pearson opted out of the season or if he has left the program entirely. He was a starter in the secondary for Wisconsin last fall.

Pearson finished his redshirt freshman season with 60 tackles, 4 pass break-ups, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2 forced fumbles. He appeared in just four games during the 2018 season, retaining his redshirt status.

Wisconsin is scheduled to open the 2020 season against Illinois.
