Don’t look now but Wisconsin is riding a 6-game winning streak and is up to 5-1 in the B1G. In fact, the Badgers avenged their only loss since the start of December (on the road to Ohio State) with a win over the Buckeyes on Thursday.

After building a 13-point lead in the first half, Wisconsin made enough shots to squash out every Ohio State attempt at a rally. The Buckeyes battled back multiple times but could not get enough stops on defense to pull off the comeback. In the end, Wisconsin hit its free throws and pulled out the 78-68 win.

Brad Davison led all scorers with 25 points on 7-for-12 shooting and made 4 shots from behind the arc. An even bigger story was a second breakout performance by Tyler Wahl.

After setting a new career-high with 21 points in the win over Maryland, Wahl scored 20 points on 8-for-10 shooting. He rounded out that performance with 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

Johnny Davis struggled with a 4-for-18 shooting night for the Badgers while finishing with 14 points.

For Ohio State, EJ Liddell shook off a rough first half to lead the Buckeyes with 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting before fouling out. Ohio State’s biggest issue in the loss was an abysmal 3-for-19 (15.8%) shooting night from 3-point range.

With the win, Wisconsin improved to 5-1 in conference play and remains just a half-game behind 5-0 Michigan State and Illinois in the B1G. Ohio State is now 4-2 in conference play and has gone just 2-2 since the home win vs. Wisconsin.
