It has been a frustrating year for Nebraska and their defense this 2021 season. On Saturday, Nebraska had another chance to upset a ranked team, but feel short as they lost on the road in Madison 35-28 to No. 15 Wisconsin.

Nebraska’s defense has faced a series of talented offenses led by high-power running backs all season. Nebraska has faced Ohio State’s TreVeyon Henderson, Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III, and Michigan’s Hasaan Haskins and Blake Corum.

After Wisconsin’s win, Nebraska outside Garrett Nelson had high praise for Wisconsin’s true freshman running back Braelon Allen as the No. 1 back Nebraska has faced all season.

Allen rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries behind his stout offensive line creating push at the line of scrimmage. Of the top B1G running backs Nebraska has faced all season, only Haskins has rushed for at least 100 yards and more than one touchdown.

Allen is going to be a special player as he has accounted for his seventh consecutive 100-yard rushing performance this season.
