Braelon Allen, star Wisconsin running back, was held out of practice Monday morning, per report.

Per Raul Vazquez of Badger Blitz, Allen was held out of practice for cautionary reasons and a team official said he is just “nicked up.”

Allen was a dominant back for the Badgers last season, leading the team with 1,268 yards on the ground and 12 touchdowns to boot. Wisconsin’s backup option Chez Mellusi was also solid, rushing for 815 yards and 5 touchdowns on the season as the 2nd option.

While Allen is out for cautionary reasons, more unfortunate news developed for the Badgers Saturday with projected starter Tanor Bortolini exiting early with a right leg injury.

Per Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Bortolini’s injury is being evaluated and “did not look good.”
