Brent Moss, former Wisconsin RB and 1994 Rose Bowl winner, dies at age 50

Brent Moss, a former Wisconsin running back that started the great RB tradition in Madison, passed away Sunday at the age of 50.

Moss is well known and heralded for his MVP heroics for the Badgers in the 1994 Rose Bowl as well as being one of the greatest backs in Badgers history. He rushed for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 21-16 win, the Badgers’ first Rose Bowl berth since 1963.

Damn. Brent Moss, who helped Racine Park to the WIAA Division 1 state title in 1988 and helped the #Badgers win the 1994 Rose Bowl, passed away today. He was 50.

Former Wisconsin running back and teammate Terrell Fletcher commented on Moss’ untimely death Sunday.

Fletcher and Moss were a dominant pair in the Wisconsin backfield. Both jumped within the top 10 of all-time rushing yards in program history by the time they were done.

Moss’ best season was that Rose Bowl year in 1993-94, totaling a whopping 1,673 yards and 16 touchdowns on 312 carries. He was named the B1G Offensive Player of the Year for his efforts.

As of Sunday evening, no cause of death has been confirmed.
