With so many excellent college football players returning to the field this fall, it’s hard to pick the best one from each conference. But FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt accepted the challenge.

Sunday, Klatt revealed his top players from all five power conferences. Three of the five were quarterbacks, with one wide receiver and one running back in the mix.

Klatt’s B1G selection? Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor.

That’s a pretty good pick, considering Taylor led the nation with 2,194 rushing yards last season and has accumulated over 4,000 total yards in his career. He’s been a freight train nobody has been able to stop through two years.

Taylor is on pace to have a really special career in Madison.

Klatt’s only other non-quarterback pick was Colorado receiver Laviska Shenault to represent the Pac-12. Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa (SEC), Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence (ACC) and Texas’ Sam Ehlinger (Big 12) were the three quarterback selections.
