Chez Mellusi carted off with apparent leg injury vs. Purdue
Chez Mellusi had to be carted off the field late in Wisconsin’s win over Purdue on Friday night.
Mellusi suffered what appeared to be a serious lower-leg injury against the Boilermakers. He received medical treatment for several minutes before being carted off the field.
Wisconsin’s entire team rushed to support Mellusi as he was being loaded onto the cart.

Mellusi does have a significant injury history. He suffered a season-ending injury during the 2021 campaign that caused him to miss the Badgers’ final 4 games. He also only played in 9 games for Wisconsin in 2022.
If Mellusi is lost for the season — or any significant period of time — it would be a huge loss for Wisconsin’s offense. Mellusi and Braelon Allen form one of the nation’s best running back tandems.
Entering Friday’s game, Mellusi had already accounted for 267 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns this season. This is his 5th season of college football and his 3rd with the Badgers.
