Wisconsin got its defensive star Michael Caputo back for Saturday’s home opener. Their offensive star, however, will be out.

Corey Clement will be sidelined with a groin strain in the Week 2 showdown against Miami (OH). After being limited in practice all week, he was considered a game-time decision for Saturday.

Clement was held out for most of the second half of last week’s 35-17 loss to No. 3 Alabama with the same injury. He was held to 16 yards on eight carries.

The junior rushed for 949 yards last year as Melvin Gordon’s backup. Without Clement, the Badgers will rely on Dare Ogunbowale and Taiwan Deal.

The Badgers should still have a noticeable improvement over last week’s 40 yards rushing against Alabama. Wisconsin was the nation’s top rushing team in 2014.
