Corey Clement was a coin flip at best to play on Saturday.

But instead of risking further injury against Georgia State, Paul Chryst elected to play it safe.

Clement will miss Saturday’s game against Georgia State with the ankle injury that he suffered last week.

That shouldn’t come off as incredibly surprising. The Badgers are 34-point favorites against Georgia State with showdowns against Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State and Iowa to start off B1G play.

Dare Ogunbowale, Bradrick Shaw and Taiwan Deal figure to share snaps in Clement’s absence.

Clement, of course, battled through sports hernia surgery last year. He tried to play through that, but he ended up having a lost 2015 season.

So far, Clement is off to a good start in 2016. He has 42 carries for 197 yards and three touchdowns in his first two games for the No. 9 Badgers. He also talked about potentially returning kicks if active on Saturday.

That might have to wait until the senior tailback is back to 100 percent.
