Wisconsin has edged out rival Minnesota for one of the top players out of the state of Colorado.

On Monday, the Badgers received a verbal pledge from three-star cornerback Max Lofy, a native of Colorado Springs. He made his announcement on Twitter with a brief message, “Committed. No interviews please.”

Lofy, listed as the No. 9 player out of Colorado, picked Wisconsin over offers from 13 other programs, including Minnesota. Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Colorado State and Kansas State also showed interest.

According to 247Sports, Lofy becomes the 12th addition to Wisconsin’s 2020 recruiting class. The Badgers currently rank eighth in the B1G and 35th nationally in this cycle.

Lofy is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back who cracks the top 125 at his position. He’s the first cornerback to commit to Wisconsin’s class. His versatility and ability to play multiple position interested the Badgers’ coaching staff on the trail.

Lofy recently made visits to Wisconsin, Minnesota and Oklahoma State, but felt the Badgers were the best fit.
