The Wisconsin Badgers have won 6 straight. They’re up to 15th in the College Football Playoff rankings. They’re atop the Big Ten West.

Things are going well in Madison. A huge reason: the Badger defense.

Jeff Potrykus, from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, shared a stat Wednesday night that perfectly encapsulates the run Wisconsin is on.

That Iowa game was on Oct. 30. Northwestern got a touchdown on the scoreboard last weekend in its 35-7 loss to the Badgers, but it came on a fumble return.

In total, the Badgers defense has given up just two touchdowns in its last month of play. That covers 50 possessions, Potrykus added.

On the year, Wisconsin ranks 2nd nationally in points allowed (14.6). It has the 3rd-best pass defense by yards per play (5.6) and the nation’s best run defense by yards per play (1.9).

Wisconsin will look to slow down Nebraska (3-7, 1-6 Big Ten) next. Though Nebraska’s record is unsightly, its offense has been fairly productive this season behind quarterback Adrian Martinez. The unit is 16th nationally in yards per game (458) and 20th nationally in yards per play (6.6). The two square off Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
