Darian Varner, impact DL transfer out of Temple, reveals B1G commitment
Darian Varner has had a strong start to his college career at Temple. After hitting the transfer portal, Varner is moving to the B1G for the 2023 season.
Varner began his career as a 3-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. Over the past two seasons, Varner has developed into an impact contributor for the Owls.
Now, he’s joining Luke Fickell with a transfer to Wisconsin:

During the 2022 season, Varner finished second on the Owls with 7.5 sacks and 12.5 TFL. He added 35 total tackles and a forced fumble to his credit. Varner has 19.5 TFL and 10.5 sacks in his career with those numbers coming from the 2021-22 seasons.
During the 2022 season, Nick Herbig and Keeanu Benton led the Badgers with 11 and 4.5 sacks, respectively. With both of those players off to the NFL Draft, Varner brings some experience and production to the defensive front for Wisconsin.
