Faion Hicks’ introduction to the NFL came with a spelling error. It wasn’t his fault, but ESPN botched the spelling of his name during coverage of the 2022 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon.

Hicks, the former Badgers cornerback, was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, going No. 232 to the Denver Broncos. On ESPN’s graphic, though, Hicks’ first name was spelled incorrectly.

ESPN spelled it “Falon.” You know, kind of like the comedian and late-night host Jimmy Fallon.

ESPN has a lot on its plate during the NFL Draft. Names are moving rapidly across the screen and players are being selected at a pretty quick clip by this point in the draft. It’s still a funny slip-up, though.

Hicks was the fifth Wisconsin player to be selected in this year’s draft, along with linebacker Leo Chenal, offensive lineman Logan Bruss, tight end Jake Ferguson and defensive lineman Matt Henningsen.

Hicks ended the 2021 season with 27 tackles and 8 pass break-ups.
