Wisconsin is back from its early-season Week 3 bye, and a top-25 showdown awaits with No. 12 Notre Dame.

After improving to 1-1 with a Week 2 win over Eastern Michigan, the Badgers headed for the bye and an extra week to prepare for the Fighting Irish. It should be a great game with some intriguing storylines to keep track of.

For starters, the 2 programs are facing off for the first time since 1964. That win went to Notre Dame with the Irish holding a lead in the all-time series by a mark of 8-6-2.

The 2 sides will also be making a trip to Soldier Field in Chicago. The neutral site will serve as host for the game with the Badgers and Irish previously playing there all the back in 1929. That was a 19-0 shut-out for Notre Dame.

The other storyline to watch is ex-Badger QB Jack Coan facing off against his former team. Coan has been starting for the Irish this season, leading them to a 3-0 record and some hard-fought wins.

Ahead of the game, ESPN’s FPI has updated the projection for Saturday’s contest. The FPI is giving the Badgers a 54.5% chance of winning the game and moving to 2-1.

Getting a win would be a nice early-season boost for Paul Chryst’s squad before taking on No. 19 Michigan next weekend. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 12 pm EST on FOX.
