Week 8 was not kind to the Badgers.

At this point, there is no reason to rehash the nuances in Wisconsin’s performance that led to the upset by Illinois. The Badgers looked flat and undisciplined for stretches of the game with two late turnovers swinging the outcome.

Thankfully, one loss alone does not end Wisconsin’s shot at a College Football Playoff bid. However, a second loss likely does. To this point, no two-loss team has ever made the Playoff.

Despite the loss, the Badgers still control their own destiny. Win out and they capture the B1G West title and a trip to Indianapolis. Unfortunately, first up on that list is a tough trip to Columbus to take on Ohio State.

It is by far Wisconsin’s toughest remaining game. If the Badgers were to lose it, they would have to win out and get some help from others in the conference with Minnesota currently riding an undefeated start.

With that in mind, here’s how ESPN’s FPI is predicting Wisconsin’s schedule the rest of the way:

  • Oct. 26 @ Ohio State – 16.1% win probability
  • Nov. 9 vs Iowa – 79.8%
  • Nov. 16 @ Nebraska – 87.6%
  • Nov. 23 vs Purdue – 93.0%
  • Nov. 30 @ Minnesota – 72.6%
