ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) always predicts the outcome of each college football game. With 12 weeks already behind us, the model has now released updated predictions for Week 13.

FPI sees the Wisconsin-Nebraska matchup as one of the closest of the weekend. Both teams enter the game at 5-5 overall, meaning the winner secures bowl eligibility. The model sees the Badgers as a slight favorite, giving the team a 53.4% chance to win the matchup. This means the Cornhuskers have a 46.6% chance, essentially meaning this game is a coin flip.

Both of these teams are entering the game looking to snap losing streaks. The Badgers have lost 3 in a row while the Huskers have lost 4 in a row. The Badgers are 3-4 in B1G games while the Huskers are 2-5.

These B1G foes have played each other 17 times in history. It’s been a one-sided matchup in recent times, with the Badgers currently on a 10-game winning streak against the Huskers. These teams last played in 2023 when the Badgers escaped with a 24-17 home win.

Wisconsin’s season has not gone according to plan after starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke suffered a season-ending injury against Alabama. Braedyn Locke has been inconsistent in Van Dyke’s place as the QB has 9 TDs and 9 INTs while completing just 55.1% of his passes.

However, running back Tawee Walker has helped the Badger offense stay afloat. The senior RB is 6th in the B1G with 773 rushing yards and 4th in the conference with 10 TDs.

These B1G foes will kick off from Memorial Stadium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
