Former Wisconsin 7-foot center Joe Hedstrom has found a new home to continue his career in college basketball.

Per Jeff Goodman of Stadium, Hedstrom has committed to Valparaiso. He entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal following the 2020-21 season. He spent three seasons with the Badgers before opting to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Hedstrom was a member of Wisconsin’s 2018 recruiting class, redshirting his first season with the program. Over the last two years, Hedstrom played in a total of 15 games for the Badgers off the bench.

In those 15 games, Hedstrom scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds while logging a total of 30 minutes. He was a member of the 2019-20 Wisconsin team that shared a B1G regular season title.

Because the NCAA granted all winter athletes an additional year of eligibility, Hedstrom will still have three years of availability at Valpo.
