Cedrick Dort Jr. is officially heading to Wisconsin. It had been reported in recent days that the former Kentucky defensive back would be leaving the SEC for the B1G, but he confirmed the news in a social media post on Monday.

Dort adds plenty of talent and experience to Wisconsin’s secondary heading into the 2022 season. He will have one year of eligibility to use with the Badgers in Madison.

Below is the post Dort fired off to confirm his decision:

Dort was at Kentucky for 5 seasons (2017-21), making 51 total tackles and 7 pass breakups. Dort recorded 19 tackles this season as the Wildcats enjoyed a 10-win season.

Dort is Wisconsin’s third cornerback transfer and fifth overall via the portal this offseason. The Badgers turned to the portal due to a lack of experienced depth after losing both starting corners.

Wisconsin is coming off a 9-4 campaign in 2021, falling a victory short of winning a B1G West title. The Badgers are looking to return to the top of the division next fall.
