Jack Coan may get a chance to face his old squad next season.
The quarterback for the Badgers, unfortunately, missed the 2020 season due to a foot injury. After the emergence of redshirt freshman Graham Mertz, Coan announced his intentions to transfer toward the end of the season.
On Monday night, Coan revealed on his Twitter page that he is heading to Notre Dame:

That adds a bit of intrigue to a non-conference matchup for the Irish and Badgers in 2021. Provided next season goes off as currently scheduled, Wisconsin and Notre Dame will face one another on Sept. 25 at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Obviously, that is no guarantee Coan would play against the Badgers. He’ll have to win the starting job – or at least carve out a role for himself – before that matchup. It is worth noting that star quarterback Ian Book is expected to leave the program after this season.
Coan threw for 3,278 yards and 23 touchdowns in parts of three seasons for Wisconsin.
