Former Division III punter and new Wisconsin addition Andy Vujnovich can officially add his name to the Badgers’ 2020 roster.

On Friday, Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that Vujnovich has been granted an immediate eligibility waiver for the 2020 season at Wisconsin. Initially, the NCAA denied his request to play for the Badgers this fall.

The appeal was successful.

Vujnovich transferred to Wisconsin after spending two seasons at Dubuque, a Division III program. He averaged 36.9 yards per punt last season at that level. The Badgers are looking to replace Anthony Lotti, who was the primary punter in Madison for the past four seasons.

Wisconsin is scheduled to open the 2020 season at home against Illinois on Friday, Oct. 23. It will be the first B1G game of the year.
