Former Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen scores 2 TDs, including game winner for New York Jets

Former Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen left his mark on the 2nd game of the season for the New York Jets. In fact, Allen delivered what would go down as the game-winning touchdown with the first rushing touchdown of his NFL career.
Facing the Tennessee Titans, Allen would get the handoff to the right side on 2nd-and-4. The blocking at the line was flawless, and the Titan defender severely underestimated Allen’s speed. He put a quick move on the defender and outran the secondary to the end zone.
The touchdown put New York up, 24-17, late in the fourth quarter, and the Jets defense would preserve the win.

Early in the game, Allen delivered the first points of the game for the Jets and the first touchdown of his career. He took a short misdirection screen pass 12 yards for a receiving touchdown early in the game.

It’s the first win of the season for the Jets, and Allen was a crucial performer. He finished the game with 56 yards of offense and 2 touchdowns in just his 2nd NFL game.
Allen is still working to carve out more playing time behind featured running back Breece Hall, but it’s clear the Jets value what the former Badger brings to the table. He will only continue to get more touches in the red zone with the way he finished off those two drives on Sunday.
