Former Wisconsin TE Troy Fumagalli is getting another shot with the San Francisco 49ers.

The club is familiar with Fumagalli and has inked him to a 1-year deal for the offseason.

In his Wisconsin career, Fumagalli appeared in 52 games (32 starts) and registered 135 receptions for 1,627 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was selected by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

In a 5-season NFL career, Fumagalli has spent time with the Broncos (2018-20), New England Patriots (2021) and 49ers (2022). He has appeared in 19 games (5 starts), recording 14 receptions for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The 49ers first signed Fumagalli on May 17, 2022. He was waived on Aug. 30, 2022 and then signed to the team’s practice squad on Sep. 7, 2022. We’ll see if Fumagalli can stick on the active roster this time around.
