A former Wisconsin tight end has found a new home in the NFL.

On Monday, the Detroit Lions announced via Twitter that they have signed free agent Austin Traylor. He will join the franchise for fall camp. Additional terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Traylor joins the Lions after spending time with the Salt Lake City Stallions in the Alliance of American Football. He played in eight games and caught two passes for 12 yards.

Traylor’s most recent NFL game experience came in 2017, when he was a member of the Denver Broncos. He moved from practice squad to the active roster and participated in seven games with three starts. That year, he caught eight passes for 100 yards.

At Wisconsin, Traylor was a key contributor to the Badgers’ offense in 2015. He ended that season with 14 receptions for 210 yards and four touchdowns. Wisconsin finished that season with a 10-3 record.

Traylor was an undrafted free agent but joined the NFL in 2016.
