Former Wisconsin WR Alex Erickson signs with new NFL team
Alex Erickson signed with a new NFL team on Thursday. The news was announced via Charean Williams of nbcsports.com.
Erickson played football at Wisconsin from 2012-2015. He will be playing for the New York Jets in 2023.
Erickson was originally picked up by the Cincinnati Bengals after going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. One of his best seasons as a wideout came in 2019 when he caught 43 passes for 529 yards receiving.
The Wisconsin product has also spent time in the NFL as a return specialist. Erickson has returned punts and kickoffs at the professional level.
Erickson played for the Bengals until 2020. He has also spent time with the Houston Texans (2021), Carolina Panthers’ practice squad (2021), and Washington Commanders’ practice squad (2022-2023).
Erickson saw the field in two games for the Commanders last season. Erickson’s role with the Jets is unclear at the moment.
It would not be surprising if the team brought him on as a returner.
