Devin Chandler, a transfer from Wisconsin and a recent University of Virginia wide receiver has been confirmed as one of three fatalities in a campus shooting Sunday night.

Chandler played for the Badgers during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He transferred to UVA for the 2022 season.

Three people were killed and two others injured in a shooting at a parking garage on UVA’s campus. According to a report, former UVA football player Christopher Darnell Jones Jr is the reported shooter.

Chandler had not seen action this season with the Cavaliers. He caught 2 passes for 28 yards as a freshman in 2020 as a Badger. Chandler played in six games last season for the Badgers and four games in 2020, including the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. He transferred to Virginia after the end of last season.

The death of Chandler is understandably a blow to the Badgers community and the team is canceling Monday media availability in wake of the news.

UVA President Jim Ryan also confirmed the three deaths are all football players. Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry were all killed in the shooting.

Chandler’s cousin, Sean Lampkin took to Twitter:

A heartbreaking situation all around for the Wisconsin community and for the UVA community, and for college football.
