Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz will have a tough competition waiting for him on Saturday.

For a B1G Week 4 showdown, the Badgers will be heading to Columbus, Ohio to take on the No. 3 Buckeyes.

Mertz is aware of the Ohio State defense and how much of a challenge it might present come Saturday, according to Sam Marsdale of 247Sports.

“Yeah, I mean, great defense. Up front — really strong, really physical. Back end — really quick. Really good in coverage. They got a bunch of guys that can make plays — good linebacking group,” Mertz said. “They’re solid all around, they’ve got a really good scheme. You can tell their coordinator (Jim Knowles) does a good job of coaching them up and knowing the details of their scheme. So it will really be a fun week for me just prep-wise, just diving into their scheme.”

The matchup brings more added pressure to play up against a top competing defense is one of the biggest factors for Mertz.

Mertz is confident and even is excited to showcase some plays that might stump the OSU defense, but didn’t want to give too much away.
