Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen raved about redshirt freshman receivers Skyler Bell and Markus Allen on Monday. Minutes later, Badgers quarterback Graham Mertz followed suit.

Mertz says it’s a pretty fun group of guys.

“They’ve got a little swag to them,” Mertz said of his receivers. ” They’re having fun, they’re competitive as hell and that’s so exciting for me. It’s a fun room, it’s a group that loves each other and the cool thing is that they know how to get each other open on the field, that’s pretty fun too.”

The group is highlighted by Chimere Dike, the team’s top returning receiver who hauled in just 19 receptions for 272 yards. Allen and Bell are candidates to breakout as well, but expect B. Allen, Chez Mellusi and Isaac Guerendo to carry most of the load on offense.
