Graham Mertz is dominating the Northwestern defense in his his first game since Paul Chryst got fired. The Wisconsin QB’s play made quite the buzz on social media.

Mertz had 200+ yards passing before halftime against the Wildcats in Evanston. Mertz threw 3 touchdown passes in the first half. Skyler Bell caught the first one, while Chimere Dike scored on the other two.

Mertz has not had the most consistent career as Wisconsin’s QB. In his first three years in Madison he had 19 passing touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Jim Leonhard may be the one who can crack into Mertz’s potential.

Wisconsin fans are taking a huge sigh of relief after seeing Leonhard’s first game as interim HC. Mertz may be able to get Wisconsin back into the conversation for the B1G West title if he keeps playing like this.

Wisconsin leads Northwestern 28-0 at half.
