Greg Gard not sweating low predictions for Wisconsin: 'Still have to go play the games'
Greg Gard’s not concerned about anyone’s preseason vote for Wisconsin.
Last year, Wisconsin men’s basketball was predicted to finish 10th in the B1G. The Badgers fared far better, and are the reigning B1G co-champions.
Wisconsin is hoping for the same underdog come-from-behind Cinderella story this year, as the Badgers have been predicted to finish 9th in the B1G this season. Wisconsin basketball enters 2022-23 after 25 wins and a share of the regular-season B1G crown last season.
Speaking at B1G Media Days, Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard had some thoughts about the placement predictions for the Badgers.
“I never really get wrapped up if we get picked first or 14th or anywhere in between,” said Gard. “At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. You still have to go play the games, and I think last year, if there was ever a storyline to wash that preseason prediction stuff out, that was it.”
Wisconsin is picked to finish 9th in the Big Ten.
The reigning co-B1G champs were picked 10th last season.
