Hayden Rucci reaches decision on 2024 season with Wisconsin
Hayden Rucci decided that it was time to end his college football career on Tuesday.
Rucci has been with Wisconsin football since 2019 and has been a player that fans have enjoyed seeing in a Badger uniform. Luckily, fans can see him play 1 more time. Rucci is planning on playing in the ReliaQuest Bowl before beginning his prep for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Rucci made 10 catches this past season for 112 yards.
Here’s what Rucci had to say about the decision:
“After earning my degree and having discussions with my family, I have made the decision to pursue my childhood dream of playing in the NFL. I will be finishing this season competing with my teammates in our bowl game,” said Rucci. “I have had the best 5 years in Madison making bonds and friendships that will last a lifetime. Thank you to Coach Chryst, Coach Turner, Coach Letton, and Coach Fickell for all the opportunities that you have provided for me throughout my career. Madison, thank you for everything.”

It hasn’t been the easiest road for Rucci to the NFL. In 2021, he played in 6 games before suffering a season-ending injury. However, he’s played in 22 games over the last 2 seasons.
Wisconsin and LSU meet at Raymond James Stadium on New Year’s Day. Kickoff will be at noon ET on ESPN2.
