Hayden Rucci was supposed to be the starting TE with Clay Cundiff out of the lineup. Cundiff suffered a leg injury against Ohio State, and is out for the season.

Rucci suffered an injury after getting helped off the field by a couple of Wisconsin players per Jeremy Werner of 247Sports. It looked like Rucci may have done something to his leg as he was not putting too much weight on one of them.

Rucci has 47 yards receiving in the games that he has played in thus far. The Badgers were already thin at the TE position, and may have lost another one of them indefinitely.

The Wisconsin TE appeared in 6 games for the Badgers last season. Rucci has played in 17 games for the Badgers in his college career.

We’ll see if any more updates come out about Rucci’s condition, and what his injury is. It’ll be interesting to see who comes in to play tight end in Rucci’s absence.
