Wisconsin is honoring Barry Alvarez in the game against Michigan today.

Today is Barry Alvarez Day at Camp Randall; last night, Wisconsin revealed that starting next season, the field will be named after him.

Fans attending today’s game will receive Barry Alvarez towels for the game against the Wolverines.

Barry Alvarez retired this summer after being the Athletic Director for Wisconsin after 12 years leading Wisconsin athletics.

Alvarez was the head coach of the Badgers from 1990-2005. He is the winningest coach in Badger history; he was 118-75 with the team.

This season the Badgers are trending in the wrong direction as they are 1-2 with losses against Penn State and Notre Dame. Their lone win came against Eastern Michigan.

Michigan coming into Camp Randall is 4-0 on the season and has wins over Washington and Rutgers.

Michigan has not won at Wisconsin since the 2001 season.

Barry Alvarez now works in the B1G office with B1G commissioner Kevin Warren as a Special Advisor of football.

Today is Barry Alvarez Day as the Badgers take on No. 14 Michigan at home at noon ET on FOX.
