Hunter Wohler ends Wisconsin's takeaway drought with early INT in Week 3
Hunter Wohler and the Wisconsin defense did not have a takeaway through the first 2 games of the season. He made sure to end the drought in the first quarter of the game vs. Georgia Southern.
With the Eagles driving into Badger territory, Georgia Southern looked to pass on first down from the 34-yard line. Quarterback Davis Brin did not have long to wait before the pressure arrived, leading Brin to force a throw.
The pass was very wide of any intended receiver, but Wohler was in the vicinity. He skied to snare the interception and secured the pick as he fell to the turf, giving Wohler his first interception and the year and Wisconsin’s first takeaway of the Luke Fickell era.

The only bad news is Wisconsin was unable to capitalize offensively. The Badgers did drive all the way to the Georgia Southern 34-yard line but were unable to convert a 4th-and-7 try.
With the defense playing strong early in Week 3, we’ll see if the Wisconsin offense can come alive with some points on the board.
