Jack Del Rio to resign from Wisconsin, per Luke Fickell
Jack Del Rio found himself in some hot water after a recent arrest. Now, he is resigning from his position on Luke Fickell’s staff as a result.
According to a Monday morning report, Del Rio was arrested on Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. No injuries were reported but Del Rio reportedly broke a fence and hit a street sign.
During his Monday press conference, Fickell confirmed Del Rio would be resigning. The head coach pointed to Del Rio not being a distraction as Wisconsin looks to put together a positive end to the season.
“It’s a tough situation,” said Fickell. “(There are) decisions that all of us have to be able to take full responsibility for. So that’s what Jack will do and we’ll continue to move forward.”
