It has not been an easy season for Wisconsin (2-3), who has lost 2 of the last 3 games. The Badgers will have another tough matchup ahead as they will host Army this Saturday night.

Wisconsin’s defense will have to be at their best against the triple-option offense of Army. Wisconsin defensive coordinator and safeties coach Jim Leonhard spoke to the media about how the team is preparing for Army:

“You play an academy, especially Army, that’s what they are,” said Leonhard.
“They know who they are, they know what they do, and they’re going to roll it out there every week and be as physical as possible and make you earn it.”

Leonhard went on to compliment the mentality of the Black Knights:

“You see a true commitment to a style of play, and they’re executing at a high level right now,” explained Leonhard. “They have multiple playmakers and it just forces you to be assignment sound. You’ve got to do all the little stuff consistently.”

Wisconsin looks to be stout while defending the running game of Army this Saturday night as the Badgers rank first in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game (41.4).
