Jim Leonhard draws praise after strong first half in last game as Wisconsin's interim coach
Jim Leonhard is coaching his last game as Wisconsin’s interim coach in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against Oklahoma State on Tuesday night.
It’s a late night in the desert, but Leonhard’s trademark defense has shown up in a big way. The Badgers started a bit slow, but cruised to a 17-7 halftime lead.
Wisconsin fans are sad to see Leonhard go, as he has done great work with the Badgers’ defense. But, understandably, many are also excited for the Luke Fickell era in Madison.
As Leonhard coached his last game, fans took to Twitter to praise him after a strong first-half effort:

Jim Leonhard is a pro for this one. No way in hell I would let the guy who’s replacing me walk the sidelines with a headset #GuaranteedRateBowl

Bruh — if @jimleonhard doesn't get a 💰💰wherever he lands as a DC, at least, then what are we doing. He's a really good defensive mind…this guy should be developing players ASAP! #CFB #BowlSeason

Where will Leonhard end up next? He should have plenty of options, both at the college and NFL levels. The future is bright for the Wisconsin interim coach!
