Jim Leonhard joins shortlist of Wisconsin coaches to earn win in first-ever B1G game
Wisconsin interim head coach Jim Leonhard joins a small list of coaches to win their 1st B1G game coached in their career in the last 90 years after the Badgers took down the Northwestern Wildcats 42-7.
Leonhard joins Gary Andersen (2013) and Dave McClain (1978) as the only coaches for Wisconsin in the last 90 years to win their first B1G appearance. Andersen coached Wisconsin to a 41-10 home win over Purdue. McClain coached the Badgers to a 28-7 road win over Northwestern in 1978.

Leonhard has taken over as head coach of Wisconsin after Paul Chryst was fired as head coach after a 34-10 home loss to Illinois in Week 5 and a 55-21 road loss to No. 3 Ohio State the week before.
Wisconsin (3-3; 1-2 in B1G play) is set to go on the road to East Lansing to take on Michigan State (2-4; 0-3) in Week 7.
