Jim Leonhard prepares to make pitch for Wisconsin's full-time head coaching job during Week 9 bye
Jim Leonhard has his eyes on the future after a big win against Purdue.
The Badgers defeated Purdue 35-24, improving to 2-1 since Leonhard took the interim head coaching job.
Leonhard spoke to the media after the win, praising the team’s effort and stating that the bye week will be used to “have conversations about what the future would look like” if he earns the permanent head coaching gig.
Leonhard said part of bye week will be used to have conversations of what the future would look like if he does earn job. Hasn’t had the chance to do that yet.#Badgers

Jim Leonhard: “I knew we had to learn a lot about this group early in the season and we found out a ton. It’s good to see the response. We’re getting better. The effort has been there. Now you’re seeing a little better execution which is how we got the result today.” #Badgers

It will be interesting to see how those conversations go with Leonhard and Wisconsin administration. Paul Chryst was fired after a couple of lackluster seasons in Madison but had an overwhelmingly successful career during his time leading the Badgers.
The Badgers head to their bye week at 4-4, with B1G games against Maryland and Iowa up next.
