JJ Watt adds to career total with early sack in final game of NFL career
JJ Watt is putting the finishing touches on his storied NFL career in Week 18. During Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, Watt added to his career total with another sack for the Arizona Cardinals.
This time, Watt knifed through the interior portion of San Francisco’s offensive line to get to Brock Purdy for the sack. He took a celebratory bow afterward, a fitting nod to his closing act as a player.

The sack gives Watt 11.5 on the season, proving the veteran defensive end still possesses an elite ability to get to the quarterback. It is Watt’s best single-season sack performance and his first with double digits since he registered 16 sacks in 2018.
We’ll see what the future holds as Watt wraps up his playing career on Sunday.
