JJ Watt has made the case for his brother (TJ Watt) to be named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.
During Monday’s Pittsburgh Steelers game, JJ compiled some stats that TJ leads in to show just how dominant he’s been this season:
The man LEADS the NFL in…
– Sacks
– TFLs
– Pressures
– QB Hits
– Pass Rush Win RateNot 2nd, not 3rd, not 4th…
1st place.
DPOY.

Watt had one sack earlier in the game as Washington quarterback Alex Smith stood no chance of getting out of his grasp:

Watt also almost had another sack on Smith but he was able to get the ball out just before Watt brought him to the ground:

TJ has been one of the main reasons that the Steelers defense has been absolutely elite this season. This is also the first game Watt’s been without Bud Dupree on the other side as he was lost for the season last Wednesday with a torn ACL.
The game is currently in the fourth quarter with the Steelers winning 17-10. We’ll have to see if Watt has another big play up his sleeve as this game gets closer to ending.
For now, JJ thinks the case for his brother to win the DPOY is quite clear.
