Johnny Davis goes off, powers Wisconsin to road win over Michigan State
Wisconsin is the second team in the B1G to hit a double figure win total in conference play this season.
Tuesday night, Johnny Davis exploded for 25 points, powering the Badgers to a 70-62 victory over Michigan State at the Breslin Center. It was a major win for Greg Gard’s squad, which still has an opportunity to win a B1G regular season title.
Wisconsin jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in the critical road win.
Davis was efficient from the floor, knocking down 8-of-11 shots from the floor, including 2-of-4 from behind the 3-point line. He was one of three Badgers to hit double figures, with Tyler Wahl and Chucky Hepburn both adding 11 points.
Scoring was an issue early in the ballgame for both sides, but Wisconsin scored 11 points in the final 5 minutes of the first half to take a 29-23 advantage into the locker room.

The Badgers would go on to lead by as many as 10 points, but the Spartans battled back. Thanks to contributions from Malik Hall, Marcus Bingham Jr. and others, Michigan State was able to get the game within 5 points multiple times.
Wisconsin used a late 9-2 run to take a 61-52 advantage with less than 2 minutes to play. That essentially iced the game in East Lansing.
The Badgers improved to 10-3 in B1G play with the victory and are now 19-4 overall. Michigan State dropped its second-straight game, falling to Rutgers on the road over the weekend.
The Spartans are now 8-4 in the B1G.
