They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. If that’s the case, guys like Reggie Corbin, Saquon Barkley and Miles Sanders should feel awfully flattered.

Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor was a popular guy at B1G Media Days, as he was swarmed by reporters after an incredible season. The Badgers’ running back rushed for over 2,000 yards to lead the NCAA and now returns as a potential Heisman candidate in 2019.

Taylor has been the best B1G running back over the last two years, on pace to not only break Ron Dayne’s college football rushing record, but shatter it. For a player like him, you may not think he has much to learn. But the Wisconsin back is always trying to improve.

How does he do that? By watching current and former B1G running backs, of course. When asked which running backs he likes to watch and learn from, Taylor dropped names of current Illinois back Reggie Corbin and former Penn Staters Saquon Barkley and Miles Sanders.

Barkley was obviously the most versatile back the B1G, and college football, has seen in quite some time. Many would argue he’s one of the best players they’ve ever seen on a college field.

Sanders and Corbin bring a lot to the table, as well. Both rushed for over 1,000 yards last season and have incredible speed and elusiveness.

While everyone has been chasing Taylor in the run game, he’s not afraid to admit that he has areas to improve upon and that he continually watches some of his B1G counterparts to improve his own game.

We’ll see if that results in a Heisman Trophy or any other accolades in 2019.
