Wisconsin has possessed some great running backs over the last decade, but the last time a Badgers running back won the Heisman Trophy was Ron Dayne in 1999. Fox sports college football analyst Joel Klatt seems to believe that could change this season.

Klatt raved about Taylor after Wisconsin defeated Michigan on Saturday and included the Badgers back in his top three Heisman Trophy candidates following Week 4.

“He’s got great patience, in particularly when they’re pulling offensive line for him, he’s got unbelievable vision, he finds small spaces,” Klatt said. “He’s got the explosiveness to then exploit those spaces. Then he’s got the balance to always gain positive yards once he’s contacted.”

Klatt included Taylor in his top three Heisman candidates with Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts and LSU signal caller Joe Burrow. Klatt mentioned that Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa would be fourth on his list if he extended one more spot.

Taylor rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter alone against Michigan on Saturday. Taylor has 440 rushing yards, 70 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns this year. He’s also averaging about 7.6 yards per carry.
