Jonathan Taylor received some tough news out of Indianapolis on Wednesday. The star running back has been ruled out for the Colts for their Thursday Night Football contest this week.

The former Wisconsin star has been dealing with an ankle injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans.

It’s a tough timetable for Taylor and the Colts as they play Thursday against the Denver Broncos. Taylor was the league’s leading rusher in 2021 with 1,811 yards and 18 touchdowns. He has rushed for 328 yards and 1 touchdown on 81 carries this season. Although, Taylor hasn’t rushed for 100 or more yards since Week 1 against Houston.

It’s a blow for the Colts, who haven’t looked great on offense as it is. Indianapolis hasn’t scored more than 20 points in a game this season and holds a 1-2-1 record. The team’s offense will need to step up with Taylor out of the lineup.

Looking at you Matt Ryan. The quarterback has thrown for 1,125 yards and 5 touchdowns to 5 interceptions this season. No other running back on the roster has rushed for more than 11 yards.
